The New Quarterly ORCCC Newsletter
2002 - Q1
Yes it is true the newsletter will now (once again) be Quarterly and if necessity declares it so we can
always have more. There will be some formatting changes to the letter from now on as
well. From now on we are trying to include noise from each board position. This may cover
anything but hopefully something related to the department they head. If I can not get
any response from them in a timely fashion I will put in key tag lines that you might
hear the person say :) - first up is "The Prez"

President's Corner
First I would like to thank Bill and Bonita Hamilton for their
Years of service and hard work. Without their dedicated service this club would
not be here today. We also hope Bill makes a complete and full recovery from his neck
surgery. Remember we are all one big family, so if you guys need anything please let us know.
Next as you all know, as of January 1st, 2002, Bill and Bonita stepped down as
Vice President/Computer Guy and Secretary/Treasuer. So we now have some changes in the
board. Carl Ross has been named the new Vice President and Mason McCombs has stepped up
to take care of the computer and most of the secretary job.
One of the items on our Wish List came true this month. We have purchased a almost new
Kubota Diesel Tractor with Bucket Loader and Box Blade. (*editor's note - I'll list some specifics later on) This new purchase was made
possible by the financial support of Fletcher Grosz. With this Tractor we won't have to
kill the few members who work on the track.
We all have to remember to keep your area clean and make sure if you see anybody abusing
the track OR race site let us know right away. The club phone is now in the drivers
stand - 352-369-1895 - so you can call if you need something.
It's awesome that we have signed up 7 new members in the last 3 weeks. Everyday we go
out to see all new faces and its great to see the old ones too. (*editor's note - the
cat cannot fly without an umbrella) Remember to tip the Gals as they work very hard for
this club every week.
Please remember we have club rules. Practice is 530pm to 10pm Wednesday and Friday
evenings. Racing Saturdays while Sunday is from sun up to sun down. Starting March 2nd
we will be racing in the evenings. Registration at 5pm, Racing at 6! We have been
having problems with a few people who don't respect the track and if you are found to be
abusing the track rules you will be removed from the private property. Also if you own a
private pit area it is your responsibility to KEEP IT CLEAN and looking good.
(*editor's note - No tulips please :-D ) People who don't own a private pit need to get
permission to use these pit spaces.
Until further notice we will be having monthly board meetings instead of club meetings.
We will keep you informed of any changes. We all took Bill and Bonita for granted as there
is a lot of work to keep this club going strong. A big thanks to Mason for stepping up and
running the computer and trying to race. (*editor's note - trying? okay maybe I've been too
easy on you. I'll pick it up a notch in awhile..)

Vice President - He was unavailable at press time so this is all he has to say
The Cage will be here Monday
Site Director - I'm excited about the layout change and going to night racing again. Please use
the ash trays and garbage cans placed around the site. We also arrived to the track one day
to see that one of the parking area lights had been terminated by a vehicle. If you would like
to volunteer to help remedy the situation please contact Fletcher or Tom, his secretary ASAP.
Track Director - The new Track Layout will be ready by March 2nd for the beginning of Night Racing.
We could use help on Tuesday, Feb 26. Carl might be there for Moral Support. :D
Secretary - I don't have much to say, I just write all this stuff down for my health! Oh yes, anyone
interesting in purchasing the offical mascot of the Ocala Radio Controlled Car Club, Glitch, contact
us ASAP. 352-369-1895, leave a message. Also, there are 5 Personal Transponders left and
each one is $55. The Prez, Site Director and Myself each have one if not more. Let's say I might
not even be racing if I had to remember to pick up a transponder :P
